The geodrains family includes several types of products with similar composition. The three-dimensional rigid core is laminated to one or two geotextiles separation which prevent soil from clogging the drain. These synthetic systems replace the more conventional granular material systems. Typical geodrains include geonets, vertical drains and embossed panels.
The vertical drains (Wick Drains) are fine draining strips that are inserted vertically into the soils with high water content. By removing the water, they can quickly consolidate water charged soils to speed up infrastructure construction. The type, length and quantity of vertical drains will be determined specifically for each project.
These geocomposites consist of a polymer core to which a nonwoven geotextile is laminated. The studs create a void, while the geotextile separates this void from the neighboring soil. Several strengths and patterns offer a very wide selection of products, some of which have hydraulic properties good enough to replace a traditional French drain with clear stone and pipe. They can be used horizontally or vertically, in the ground or against the foundation of buildings.
